Alyssa Koch, Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW
Alyssa is dedicated to helping clients develop the skills needed to reach their goals. She uses an empowering, supportive, and collaborative approach in therapy. With over 12 years of experience in substance dependency recovery, including 10 years as a Primary Therapist and 5 years as a Clinical Director, Alyssa is well-versed in working with dually diagnosed individuals.
She employs motivational, cognitive behavioral, rational-emotive behavioral, and solution-focused therapies to help clients make positive changes. Alyssa’s non-judgmental and empathic approach helps clients develop self-awareness, healthy coping strategies, and effective problem-solving and decision-making skills. She approaches therapy with warmth and authenticity, believing that success requires a team effort between therapist and client. Alyssa looks forward to starting this therapeutic journey with you.
In addition to her extensive experience in substance dependency recovery, Alyssa also has a strong background in working with individuals dealing with a wide range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. She has experience working with diverse populations, including individuals from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Alyssa is also trained in a variety of evidence-based practices such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) which she incorporates into her work to help clients achieve greater emotional regulation and self-awareness.
She understands that seeking help can be a difficult step and takes a client-centered approach, creating a safe and comfortable space for her clients to open up and talk about their concerns. Alyssa is committed to providing a non-judgmental and confidential environment for clients to express themselves freely and work through their issues.
Alyssa also offers both in-person and teletherapy sessions, and is dedicated to providing the best possible care for her clients by staying current on the latest developments in therapy and research.
She works with clients of all ages, from children to seniors, providing a holistic approach to their treatment, taking into consideration their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Alyssa is excited to support you on your journey towards healing and self-discovery.
